Financial Aid Resources
Our department does not offer any scholarships or financial aid for graduate students in the entomology and nematology distance program. However, domestic students may apply for financial aid, State of Florida employees may use Employee Education Plan benefits and some government and private employers will reimburse students for part or all of their tuition costs. Check with your employer’s human resources department to find out if they offer tuition reimbursement benefits.
Students registered in the online learning course sections will pay through UF Financial Services. Students should check the semester payment deadlines on the Registrar’s website immediately after being registered. The University of Florida payment deadline is always the second Friday of each semester, before 3:30 pm (not 5:00 pm) EST.
Purchase of books and course materials is the responsibility of the student. Information about the requirements and recommendations of these materials can be obtained from the instructor and/or course syllabi.
Financial Aid Eligibility
Master’s degree students are eligible for private and federal loans. Graduate certificate students are not eligible for federal financial aid but may be eligible for private loans. Non-degree seeking students are not eligible for federal or private loans. Please contact the Office of Student Financial Affairs about possible private student loan eligibility and any questions.
Students seeking federal student loans must complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as early as possible.
Financial aid applicants are responsible for ensuring the timely completion of several steps through FAFSA and UF’s One.UF in order for funds to be disbursed by the tuition due date.
UF’s Federal School Code is 001535.
Employer Tuition Assistance
Tuition assistance is a benefit offered by many employers to employees who are looking to gain job-related skills and advance their careers within the company.
If you are interested in tuition assistance, you should first verify whether your employer has an existing tuition assistance policy. From there, you can determine your eligibility and work with your employer to receive benefits. Additional information on participating employers can be found by visiting our Tuition Assistance page.
Veterans Affairs and Military Students
All non-degree, graduate certificate and master’s degree students may be eligible to receive benefits from the G.I. Bill or V.A. Tuition Assistance.
Please contact the Office of Student Veteran Services for more information. Active duty students should also contact the Bursar’s Office.
Additional Costs
There is a $30 application fee for master’s degree and graduate certificate applications. There is no application fee associated with the non-degree seeking option.
